"We are pleased to offer a variety of plans that enable you to insure the health of your dog or cat just as you would any other family member. We are excited and serious about partnering with you to keep your pet happy and healthy."
Steve Popovich, CEO of PetPartners
PetPartners sold its first pet healthcare policy in the U.S. in 2003, but our history goes back to the 1980's. That's when John Spurling
purchased and developed pet healthcare insurance, exclusively for the Kennel Club of Great Britain, into one of the leading pet insurance
innovators. Later, he launched PetPartners in the United Kingdom and then in the United States. Now, with over 30 years of experience, we
have a proven track record in pet insurance for dogs and cats.
Since 2003, PetPartners has been the exclusive provider of pet health insurance protection to registrants of the American Kennel Club through
the AKC Pet Insurance plans. In 2004, we were selected by the Cat Fanciers' Association, the largest registry of pedigreed cats, to provide
our insurance to CFA registrants. In 2009, PetPartners began to offer its new PetPartners-branded products both to individuals and groups
(such as associations, companies and credit unions).
PetPartners is known for our excellent and hassle-free customer service by licensed agents. Our pet insurance coverage is trustworthy, convenient and reliable with a
quick 30-day claims turnaround.
Our policies are available in all 50 states.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Steve joined PetPartners in 2005 as CFO and became President and CEO in 2006. He came to PetPartners with a 25-year track record in various financial positions, both corporate and operations, with several global companies including Tyco International and Georgia-Pacific.
Steve has an accounting degree from the University of Florida and an MBA in Finance from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
With tennis racket and ragged ball in hand, Steve and his wife, Sharon, spend a lot of time with their terrier-mix, Leo, who loves to play fetch more than food itself. "Boy, that little dog can out-and-out fly!" exclaim his neighbors. Leo is now listed with the AKC Canine Partners program, and is destined to become a star in Flyball.
